Red LED is illuminated on the front of the 7500 Controller

  1. If the COM LED is off, check to make sure that the Ethernet cable is securely plugged into the back of the controller and to the Ethernet switch.
  2. If the COM LED is on or flashing, refer to VMSG Receiver — (vx7500_receiver.exe) to determine the error messages that are being sent back from the controller. Once you have determined the error messages, refer back to this document for more information.

Received error: position error exceeded maximum allowed position error

  1. Reset the motor then try again. If the error still occurs, proceed to next item.
  2. Check the 50 pin ribbon cable is plugged in securely.
  3. Check that the encoder signal is moving up and down.
  4. Verify that the motor can move by hand.
  • If the motor still does not spin, contact Vena. It is either a bad encoder or a bad connection between the encoder and the 50 pin ribbon cable.
  • If the motor spins fine on the new station, contact Vena. There might be a problem with the motion control amplifier for that station.
